ENMAX Power Corporation
Selects DSATools
February 2008 - ENMAX Power Corporation (Alberta, Canada)
has selected Powertech's DSATools for use in its system studies.
ENMAX Power Corporation builds, owns, and maintains the electrical
distribution and transmission system serving the Calgary area. ENMAX
Power also provides load settlement and other services in areas
outside of Calgary.
Northern Ireland Electricity Selects VSAT & TSAT
for On-line Use
January 2008
- Northern Ireland Electricity - System Operator for Northern
Ireland (NIE-SONI) has selected Powertech's Voltage Security
Assessment Tool (VSAT) and Transient Security Assessment Tool
(TSAT) for on-line use. NIE-SONI is responsible for the safe, secure
and economic operation of the high voltage electricity grid in
Northern Ireland and, via a joint venture with Eirgrid, is also
responsible for running the new all-island wholesale market for
electricity. NIE-SONI's on-line VSAT/TSAT system will be integrated
with Areva EMS for real-time voltage and transient security
assessment of its transmission system.
AESO Selects VSAT for On-line Use
December 2007
- Alberta Electric System Operator (Canada) has selected Powertech's
Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for on-line use. AESO is
responsible for the safe, reliable and economic planning and
operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System(AIES)
and it facilitates Alberta's competitive wholesale
electricity market, which has more than 200 participants and about
$5 billion in annual energy transactions. AESO's on-line VSAT system
is scheduled to be in operation in summer of 2008
CSG Selects SSAT
December 2007 - China Southern Power Grid Co. has selected
Powertech's Small Signal Analysis Tool (SSAT) for user in system
planning and operation studies. CSG operates a large regional power
grid in southern China, covering five provinces. The CSG grid has a
total installed capacity of 79,540 MW and a transmission system span
41,005 km with the voltage of 220 kV or higher.
ITC Transmission Selects VSAT
October 2007
- ITC Transmission (USA) has selected Powertech's Voltage Security
Assessment Tool (VSAT). ITC Transmission is in the business of
transmitting high-voltage electricity throughout southeastern
Michigan, providing the gateway for energy delivery to the Midwest
and for the international markets to our neighbors in Canada. We are
the nation's first fully independent, for-profit transmission
business and began operations in March 2003.
LS Industrial Systems has selected DSAToolsTM
June 2007 - LS Industrial Systems Company Limited
(Korea) has purchased Powertech's DSAToolsTM.
The Group's principal activities are manufacturing of electric
motors, generators and transformers, electric equipment, electric
system, automation equipment, production control system and traffic
control system, electric power tools, tubes and pipes and electric
power tools.
Tavanir has selected DSAToolsTM
June 2007 - Tavanir (Iran) has selected Powertech's
DSAToolsTM
for use in system planning. Tavanir is a state-controlled company
that manages Iran's electricity sector. It has the capacity to
generate a total of 36,000 megawatts - 80% of which is produced by
burning natural gas, with the remainder divided between hydropower
and oil .
DSAToolsTM Version 7.0 Released!
May 2007 - Version 7 of the DSAToolsTM
has now been released and is available for shipping. The new version
includes a number of enhancements to PSAT, VSAT, TSAT, and SSAT.

NERC has selected DSAToolsTM
April 2007 - NERC (USA) has purchased Powertech's
DSAToolsTM
for off-line studies. NERC Corporation was the result of a January
1, 2007 merger of the North American Electric Reliability Council
and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. NERC, which
has been certified as the "electric reliability organization" by the
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. NERC's mission is to improve
the reliability and security of the bulk power system in North
America. To achieve that, NERC develops and enforces reliability
standards, monitors the bulk power system, assesses future adequacy,
audits owners, operators and users for preparedness, and educates
and trains industry personnel.
AEP Selects VSAT for On-line Use
February
2007 - American Electric Power - AEP (USA) has selected
Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for
on-line use. American Electric Power owns more than 36,000
megawatts of generating capacity in the United States and is the
nation's largest electricity generator. AEP is also one of the
largest electric utilities in the United States, with more than 5
million customers linked to AEP’s 11-state electricity transmission
and distribution grid.

FirstEnergy Corp. (USA) has selected VSAT to be used
on-line in their control centers for voltage security assessment of their
operating region. FirstEnergy Corp. is a diversified energy company
headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Its seven electric utility operating companies
comprise the nation's fifth largest investor-owned electric system.
Beijing Electric Power Corp selects on-line DSAToolsTM
May 2006 - The
Beijing Electric Power Corp - BEPC (China) has selected the DSAToolsTM
for on-line use in their control center.
VSAT and TSAT will be implemented for on-line voltage security and transient
security analysis as part of the EMS.
East China Grid Company selects on-line DSAToolsTM
May 2006 - The East
China Grid Company - ECGC (China) has selected VSAT for
on-line use in their control center.
Minnesota Power Selects the DSAToolsTM
May 2006 -
Minnesota Power - MP (USA) has purchased an off-line license for VSAT, TSAT, and
PSAT. MP was one of the first users of Powertech's SSAT software.

BCTC selects on-line DSAToolsTM
March 2006 - The
British Columbia Transmission Corporation - BCTC (Canada) has selected the DSAToolsTM
for on-line use in their new control
centers. VSAT and TSAT will be implemented for on-line voltage security and
transient security analysis as part of the EMS system being provided by AREVA.
As an independent electric transmission company, BCTC is responsible for the
planning, management and operation of BC Hydro's transmission assets, which
include 18,000 kilometres of high-voltage wires.
SNU Selects the DSAToolsTM
March 2006 - Seoul
National University (Korea) has purchased the DSAToolsTM
Educational Suite for use in the Electrical Engineering Department.
CFE further expands the use of the DSAToolsTM
March 2006 - CFE
(Mexico) has purchased additional DSAToolsTM
licenses for multiple sites. CFE provides services of generation, transmission
and distribution of electrical power services to 23 million customers, nearly 80
million Mexicans.
SDG&E selects VSAT
March 2006 - San
Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), USA, has selected VSAT for use in system planning.
SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides safe and reliable energy
service to 3.3 million consumers through 1.3 million electric meters and more
than 800,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties. The
utility’s area spans 4,100 square miles.
PG&E selects on-line VSAT
March 2006 -
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), USA, has selected VSAT for
on-line use in their control center. PG&E Corporation markets energy
services and products in North America through its PG&E National Energy Group.
PG&E Corporation's businesses also include Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
PG&E operates thirty power plants, with a total generation portfolio of 7000
megawatts. PG&E is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
Southern California Edison selects on-line VSAT
Feb 2006 - Southern
California Edison, USA, has selected VSAT for
on-line use in their control center. VSAT will be integrated with SCE's
energy management system system using Powertech's
DSA ManagerTM
software. SCE is one of the largest electric utilities in the USA, and the
largest subsidiary of Edison International. Edison International, through its
subsidiaries, is an electric power generator and distributor, and an investor in
infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The company operates in regulated
and non-regulated markets with a power generation portfolio of approximately
14,000 megawatts.
Tsinghua University purchases the DSAToolsTM
Jan 2006 - Tsinghua
Univerity (China) has purchased the DSAToolsTM
Educational Suite for use in teaching power system analysis. The University has
also obtained an on-line
license for use in their power system laboratory environment.
TransGrid purchases the DSAToolsTM
Dec 2005 -
TransGrid (Australia) has purchased the complete DSAToolsTM
Commercial Suite for use in system planning. TransGrid is a State Owned
Corporation responsible for the management and development of the New South
Wales high voltage electricity network transmitting power between generators,
bulk distributor corporations, some direct customers and other states to ensure
reliability and security of supply to all business and domestic consumers in New
South Wales.
ISO NE selects the DSAToolsTM
Dec 2005 - ISO New
England (USA) has purchased TSAT and VSAT for use in system planning. ISO New
England is a regional transmission organization (RTO), serving Connecticut,
Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Tenaga Nasional Berhad selects on-line DSAToolsTM
Dec 2005 - The
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (Malaysia) has selected the DSAToolsTM
for
on-line use in their control center. VSAT and
TSAT will be connected to TNB's energy management system system using
Powertech's
DSA ManagerTM
software. TNB has been a user of Powertech's off-line software since 2004. TNB
is Malaysia's national, and largest, electricity utility company with assets
worth more than RM60 billion serving over six million customers throughout
Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.

Sept 2005 - Excel
Engineering, Inc. (USA) has purchased VSAT for use in their power system
consulting business. Excel Engineering is a consulting company located in
Minnesota with diversified project experience including utility transmission
planning, substation design, wind farm collector systems along with electrical
transmission and distribution protection analysis.
Southern Company goes On-Line!
June 2005 -
Southern Company Services (USA) has successfully implemented Powertech's TSAT
software at their system control center. TSAT is interfaced with the EMS using
Powertech's
DSA ManagerTM
and provides continual on-line transient
security assessment of Southern's system. Southern Company is a super-regional
energy company with nearly 39,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity in
the Southeast. It is one of the largest producers of electricity in the USA.

ESKOM Selects On-Line DSAToolsTM
May 2005 - ESKOM
(South Africa) has selected Powertech's VSAT and TSAT software for
on-line implementation in system operations. The tools will be used for
voltage security and transient security assessment in the real-time sequence of
ESKOM's EMS system. ESKOM is one of the world's largest electric utilities and
generates nearly all of South Africa's electricity.
PJM Selects On-Line TSAT
April 2005 - PJM
Interconnection (USA) has selected Powertech's Transient Security Assessment
Tool (TSAT) for
on-line use in system
operations. TSAT will be connected to PJM's EMS system using Powertech's
DSA ManagerTM
and will perform contingency analysis and security limit determination for
specified transactions. PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission
organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of electricity through all or
parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey,
Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of
Columbia. This service area has a peak demand in excess of 110,000 MW.

Version 5.0 of PSAT, VSAT, TSAT and SSAT have been released and feature a number
of enhancements. VSAT enhancements include speed improvements, more flexible
control capabilities, and plotting improvements. TSAT and SSAT enhancements

Transpower (New Zealand) has selected VSAT for
on-line use in system operations. VSAT will be integrated into Transpower's
EMS system to provide on-line voltage security assessment capabilities.
Transpower is the owner and operator of the transmission grid of New Zealand.
GridAmerica Purchases VSAT
February 2005 -
GridAmerica LLC (USA) has purchased VSAT for use in their Investment Planning
department. GridAmerica works collaboratively with it's participant companies to
maximize the value and reliable operation of their transmission assets. It's
participant companies include Ameren, FirstEnergy (American Transmission
Systems, Inc./ATSI) and Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

January 2005 -
Guangdong Power Dispatch Center, the power dispatch center for the Guangdong
Province in China, has purchased Powertech's SSAT software for use in studies
and control of low frequency oscillations in South China Power Grid.

December 2004 - The
National Electricity Market Management Company (NEMMCO) of Australia has
purchased Powertech's TSAT software for use in system operations. NEMMCO manages
the National Electricity Market of Australia including Queensland, New South
Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia, and
Tasmania.

November 2004 - The

use in their Riyadh control center. The software will be used in the real-time
sequence of the EMS system and be made available for study-mode as well.

Southern Company's (USA) Bulk Power Operations has selected Powertech's VSAT
software for on-line use. VSAT will be
implemented in the real-time sequence of Southern's EMS system to provide
on-line voltage security assessment alongside Powertech's Transient Security
Assessment Tool (TSAT) which Southern purchased last year.
