Ameren selects VSAT
August 2010 - Ameren (USA)
has purchased VSAT for use in power system studies of its
transmission grid. Ameren is among the US's largest investor-owned
electric or gas utilities, the largest electric utility in Missouri,
and the second largest in Illinois. Ameren companies provide energy
services to 2.4 million electric and nearly one million natural gas
customers throughout its territory.
NextEra selects TSAT
August 2010 - NextEra Energy
Inc. (formerly FPL Group) has purchased TSAT for use in various
power system studies. NextEra is a leading clean energy company in
USA operating nearly 43,000 megawatts of generating capacity.
Excel Engineering selects SSAT
August 2010 - Excel
Engineering Inc. (USA) has leased SSAT for use in their power system
consulting business. Excel Engineering is a consulting company
located in Minnesota with diversified project experience including
utility transmission planning, substation design, wind farm
collector systems along with electrical transmission and
distribution protection analysis.
On-line VSAT went into production mode at BC Hydro
July 2010 - The new on-line voltage
security assessment system using Powertech's VSAT software went into
the primary production mode at BC Hydro (formerly BCTC) control
center on July 1st.The on-line system is able to give the control
center operators, in near real-time, clear and accurate vision of
voltage security status and the associated power transfer limits in
BC's transmission system. It is considered as a
critical application for the reliable and secure operation of the
power grid in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
Transpower selects TSAT for On-line Use
July
2010 - Transpower has selected Powertech's Transient Security
Assessment Tool (TSAT) for on-line use. Transpower owns and operates
New Zealand's high-voltage electricity transmission grid, providing
a seamless delivery of bulk electricity to towns, cities and major
industries across the country.
EPRI purchased SSAT
July 2010 - EPRI (The
Electric Power Research Institute, USA) has purchased SSAT for its
consulting use. EPRI is an independent, nonprofit organization
funded by the electric utility industry and it conducts research on
issues of interest to the electric power industry.
Latest DYNRED software is released and supported by Powertech
May 2010 -
DYNRED (DYNamic REDuction), a software program developed by EPRI in 1990s for creating dynamically equivalenced models of large power systems,
was recently undergone a major overhaul sponsored by EPRI, supported by several large ISO/utilities, and completed by Powertech.

December 2009 - XM purchased Powertech's on-line and off-line VSAT for power system analysis.
XM Compañía de Expertos en Mercados S.A ESP, is a subsidiary of the business group ISA in Colombia. XM is responsible for carrying out the planning and coordination services for the operation of the Colombian National Interconnected System and for the management of the electric power commercial exchanges system in the Wholesale Market.

November 2009 - ESKOM purchased Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for use in power system studies.
ESKOM is a power utility that generates, transmits, distributes, and trades electricity located in South Africa.

for on-line transient security assessment of its power grid. MISO now holds licenses for all DSATools programs, including on-line VSAT and TSAT licenses.

June 2009 - ATC (American Transmission Company) has selected Powertech's
Small Signal Analysis Tool (SSAT) for power system analysis. ATC is a multi-state,
transmission-only utility covering portion of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois
in the United States.

Beijing TsingSoft Technology Co., Ltd. (http://www.tsingsoft.com.cn)
has signed agreement with Powertech to become an exclusive agent for Powertech's
DSATools software package in the Chinese market. TsingSoft is a high-tech company
located in Beijing, China, specializing in providing power system software and
solutions to power industry in the areas of power generation, transmission, and
distribution.

security assessment of its power grid. AzerEnerji is the biggest energy producer
of Azerbaijan.
AEP Ohio has selected on-line VSAT

AEP (American Electric Power Co., Inc.) Ohio has selected Powertech's Voltage
Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for on-line voltage security assessment of its
power grid. AEP Ohio serves nearly 1.5 million customers in Ohio and the northern
panhandle of West Virginia.
MISO purchased TSAT
February 2009
MISO (MidWest Independent System Operator) has procured a TSAT license for use in
system planning. MISO now holds licenses for all DSATools programs, including
on-line VSAT licenses for use in on-line voltage security assessment.
On-line VSAT in production at NEMMCO
February 2009
The on-line VSAT system went into production at The National Electricity Market
Management Company Limited (NEMMCO), Australia. On-line VSAT is integrated with
AREVA EMS and will provide NEMMCO with necessary information in ensuring voltage
security of the NEMMCO transmission system.

Operator S.A. has selected Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for voltage
security assessment of its power grid. PSE-Operator S.A. is a Polish Transmission System
Operator, responsible for the transmission and distribution of electricity on the territory
of the Republic of Poland.
FERC has selected Powertech's DSATools
October 2008 -
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has selected Powertech's DSATools™
software package for power system analysis. FERC is the United States federal agency
with jurisdiction over interstate electricity sales, wholesale electric rates,
hydroelectric licensing, natural gas pricing, and oil pipeline rates. FERC also
reviews and authorizes liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, interstate natural gas
pipelines and non-federal hydropower projects.
Dominion has selected SSAT

Dominion Resources Services, Inc has selected Powertech's Small Signal
Analysis Tool (SSAT) for power system analysis. Dominion is one of US's
largest producers and transporters of energy, with a portfolio of
approximately 26,500 megawatts of generation.

October 2008 -
The National Electricity Market Management Company Limited (NEMMCO) has
selected Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) for on-line
voltage security assessment of its power grid. NEMMCO is the Wholesale
Market and Power System Operator for the Australian National Electricity
Market (NEM).

Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) has selected Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT)
and Transient Security Assessment Tool (TSAT) for On-line
use

2008 - Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) has
select ed Powertech's Voltage Security Assessment Tool (VSAT) and
Transient Security Assessment Tool (TSAT) for on-line Dynamic
Security Assessment in its new control centers. WECC, one of the
eight regional councils of the North American Electric Reliability
Council (NERC), is responsible for coordinating and promoting
electric system reliability in its territory. In addition to
promoting a reliable electric power system in the Western
Interconnection, WECC supports efficient competitive power markets,
assures open and non-discriminatory transmission access among
members, provides a forum for resolving transmission access
disputes, and provides an environment for coordinating the operating
and planning activities of its members. The WECC region encompasses
a vast area of nearly 1.8 million square miles with more than 71
million people. WECC's service territory extends from Canada to
Mexico, including the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, the
northern portion of Baja California, Mexico, and all or portions of
the 14 western states in between.
